Origin

The Mushroom Vial of Quiet Rot is said to draw from that principle. Not from violence. Not from sudden change. But from gradual surrender. It does not seek to break what stands before it.

It waits for it to weaken.

Those who claim to understand it describe its nature as inevitable rather than aggressive: a slow influence that seeps into the edges of experience, where it is hardest to notice… and hardest to resist.

Nature of the mushroom vial:
The mushroom vial does not act on its own. It responds.
It requires:
• motion
• focus
• a defined anchor

Ritual Use:

To engage the vial:
1) Set it in motion
2) Speak the name, or clearly define the place you wish to anchor it to. This can not be the place the mushroom vial is currently inhabiting nor the person invoking it.
3) Allow the motion to continue

As long as the vial remains in motion, the influence holds. It does not require constant attention. Only continuation.

To release the binding:
Simply still the motion completely

Be aware:
The first binding is always the strongest.

When bound to a name:
The mushroom binds to the anchored person's sense of taste. Making the individual's flavor dull at first. Over time the victim may only taste mold. How fast it roots depends on the anchor's resistance to nature magic.

When bound to a place:
The mushroom binds itself into the ground. The area may become noticably more moist and decay will speed up. Mushrooms and moldiness will spring forth for as long as the effect remains ongoing.

Limitations
• The vial binds to one anchor at a time
• Its influence is gradual, not immediate
• Interrupting its motion weakens the effect
• Rebinding too frequently disrupts its stability

It is not a tool of sudden outcomes.
It is a tool of slow, deliberate imbalance.
